CARE + USE GUIDE
Haus + Stone — Designed for Detail. Built to Endure.
Thank you for choosing Haus + Stone engineered surfaces. With the right care, your product will remain as beautiful and functional as the day it was installed. Please review the following guidelines to protect your investment.

1 / EVERYDAY CLEANING
Gloss Finishes
-
Clean with a soft cloth and a non-abrasive cleaner.
-
A 50:50 vinegar and water solution works well; add a drop of mild dish soap for extra power.
-
Safe alternatives include:
-
Method Tub & Tile™
-
Seventh Generation™ All-Purpose Cleaner
-
Simple Green™
-
-
Avoid abrasive cleaners or scouring powders, which can dull the surface over time.
Satin Finishes
-
Refresh best with a light abrasive cleanser such as:
-
Soft Scrub™
-
Bon Ami™
-
Comet™
-
Borax™
-
-
The slight abrasion helps maintain the even, matte appearance.
2 / CARE TIPS
Stains
-
The finish resists most everyday stains, but prolonged exposure to strong chemicals can cause discoloration.
-
Avoid bleach, ammonia, nail polish remover (acetone), hair dye, or harsh cleaners.
-
If spills occur, rinse immediately with water.
Heat
-
Do not expose surfaces to temperatures above 120°F (49°C).
-
Prolonged contact with hot water, curling irons, or other heat sources can weaken the surface and may void your warranty.
-
Rule of thumb: if water is too hot for your hand, it’s too hot for the material.
Scratches
-
Durable but not indestructible — sharp objects and rough pads can leave marks.
-
Light scratches: buff with a polishing compound or Gel-Gloss®.
-
Deeper scratches: gently wet sand with #800 grit, then polish to restore sheen.
Water Use
-
To prevent thermal shock (small cracks from rapid expansion), always run hot and cold water together rather than relying on hot water alone.
3 / SHOWER
-
Everyday Use: Bar soap creates residue; liquid body wash rinses clean and reduces buildup.
-
Mats & Accessories: Avoid leaving suction-cup mats or accessories in place permanently; they can trap moisture and damage the finish.
-
Silicone Joints: Wipe joints regularly with a mildew-resistant cleaner to maintain a fresh look.
4 / VANITY TOPS
-
Drain Installation: Do not use plumber’s putty and avoid overtightening the drain assembly—both can damage the bowl and void warranty coverage.
-
Water Temperature: Extremely hot water can cause hairline cracks near the drain. If water feels too hot to hold your hand under, it’s too hot for the surface.
5 / PROTECTION + LONGEVITY
-
The clear coat enhances appearance, seals against moisture, and resists bacteria and mold.
-
Excessive scrubbing, deep scratches, or harsh chemicals can compromise this layer.
For best results:
-
Apply Gel-Gloss® or a carnauba-based automotive wax once or twice a year to restore brilliance and add protection.
-
Move items like soap dispensers, cups, and decorative objects periodically to prevent shadow stains.
-
Use mineral deposit cleaners sparingly, only as directed, and never let them sit on the surface.
6 / WHAT TO AVOID
-
Abrasive pads, steel wool, or harsh scrubbers
-
Chemicals such as bleach, acetone, paint thinner, or oven cleaner
-
Cutting directly on the surface
-
Direct heat or sudden temperature changes
With proper care, your Haus + Stone surfaces will remain a refined and enduring part of your home for years to come.
